Introduction
The electric guitar is a vital gadget to modern popular music. Currently, it is one of the most played and produced instruments. My guitar is made of a wooden neck and body as well as some steel wires attached to a wooden strip. Regarding the environmental impact, the appliance is created from well-seasoned hardwood such as mahogany. The structure of the environment is a product of the human mind. In this case, deforestation is one considerable impact of the device because overtime, the endangered species will gradually decline. Moreover, during its manufacture, the factories cause gas emissions. Despite the vast musical benefits of an electric guitar, the manufacturing process is powered by the burning of coal and plastic, which contribute to the pillage of synthetic materials in soil and water.
What interests myself about it?
What interests me about the gadget is the fact that it brings my friends and I together because it livens the mood due to its spontaneity. On a personal level, it enables me to create my rifts and improves my concentration and time management skills. Lastly, by shredding and heavy strumming, it acts a stress reliever.
What is the significance of the guitar over time?
The meaning and significance of the guitar were improved over time. Early on, the device had a large body shape with a reverse polarity circuit for enhancing hum bucking performance (Pim). The Duo-Sonic was important in defining New York’s new movement led by Patti Smith and Richard Loyd. The modern version is a string-thru body strat that has 22 jumbo jets and a C-shaped profile (Gill). It is crucial in creating an ideal fusion between Tele Twang and Strat squall.
How are guitars helping in environmental change?
Some organizations have come forward to facilitate a revolution. The Alaska Musicwood Coalition has linked with guitar companies to create a Greenpeace program that addresses issues of extinction and environmental degradation (Taylor et al.). Additionally, the Smart wood and rainforest alliance in Central America helps communities to promote sustainability by harvesting wood from trees that have fallen naturally.
Where and why the guitar created?
The first versions of the electric guitar were innovatedin the 1920s, but they were very primitive. The reason for producing the instrument was to develop an electromagnetic pickup. My version is the Fender DUO-Sonic guitar, and it was invented in 1956 (Gill). It delivers aggressive bridge, neck tones, and facilitates string bends which improve playability.
In summary, the electric guitar was designed with a desire to play it at a louder volume. The environmental side effects are apparent from the paper. Most of the manufacturing materials and processes destroy the environment. On a positive note, some organizations have decided to use music as a way to promote awareness.
