First piece that I saw at the Governor’s island was this piece that is made out of plastic bottles. When I first saw this piece, all the little strings struck me . I thought the artist did a decent job on the making 3d sculpture by using plastic bottles. Also, the artist assembled the piece by connecting the plastic strings to each other. Lastly, it seems like the artist made this sculpture with wasted materials which is a concept of eco friendly.
Second, when I saw this artwork, I was amazed that wasted receipts can be an art. Most of people just throw the receipts away, but it could be something that very creative. The artist assembles the piece by continuing all the receipts on the floor. It seems like just paper has been used in this artwork. Also, the materials that the artist used seems fairly new.
Third, This artwork is a giant water bottle that is made out of foam board. Drawing that is on the artwork really struck me. The material that was used in this work doesn’t seem wasted. However, the color change of this work seems like it is aged or wasted which is related to the concept of sustainable system.
Last one is a gigantic sculpture that was outside. It seems like this sculpture is made out of bunch of fabrics. What struck me was the size of the artwork and how spectacular it is. The artist assembled the artwork by connecting all the fabrics. Also, the materials seems wasted which could be related to the concept of sustainable system.
