- I began the study of the shoe with an orthographical shoe drawing, and made a wire shoe. After I made a wire shoe, I made a foam-core mold and a plaster sole.
- I made a paper model of my shoe by creating shoe patterns by using tracing paper. I added a detail that I got inspired by a butterfly. My understanding of the shoe as a form changed while I was making the shoe patterns. I figured out how the curve is designed.
- I named my project “Transformation” because larva transforms to a butterfly. I went through many stages complete this final project.
- I mostly used plastic, wood, and wire for my final project. I spent about $10.
- The star of the shoe was made out of repurposed plastic.
- I used a hand drill and wood cutter.
- I learned how to drill and use tools from the wood shop

3. I am happy with my final project overall but I wish I could have made the mechanism more complicated. If I had more time, I would have been experimenting a bit more.
4.
I applied the skills of making a shoe pattern for this project.
I learned skills such as hand drilling and using wood shop tools.
Hand drill and the wood shop tools were new tools that I used.
The biggest challenge of this project was making the mechanism indirect.
I was satisfied how the sole turned out.
