Stop Motion Studio Final

Assignment: The class was paired off into partners and asked to create a stop motion film using paper figures to animate the historical information we collected previously through interviews and archival research.

My part of the video was inspired by the history of the 28th street flower market and included two characters (green and brown) from the 1920’s meeting for the first time; the backdrop was created through a collage of images collected from security cameras across the city. My partner’s part of the video had his [purple] character travel  through the subway while portraying the changes that occurred to the surroundings through the years.

Stopmotion Final

I am a Bahraini product designer based in New York City. I am currently pursuing a degree in product design at Parsons the New School of Design. With a focus on furniture and housewares, I am very hands on in my design process; often designing through the manufacturing process. I continue to challenge myself by taking on projects as an opportunity to explore materiality and processes. Rather than hiding imperfections in a piece, I bring them to the forefront of the concept to highlight the manufacturing process.
