Topic: Heterosexuality is treated as the default in society. The fact that heterosexuality is treated as the default forces LGBT+ youth to feel that the fact that they aren’t heterosexual is wrong and should stay closeted. As long as society treats heterosexuality as normal, they are forcing LGBT+ youth into the closet.
Thesis: Though there has been a lot of progress made in the LGBT+ equality movement, American teens are still forced into the closest by the viewing of heterosexuality as normal.
