Listen To Your Rhythm is made up of various materials, primarily technical. The experience is meant to make you imagine being in a solitary environment with no outside sounds, and through a series of timed footsteps, would be able to mimic the sound of a heartbeat. The understanding connects to the sounds we are hearing are the ones that go unnoticed, and it is important to consider the little things that make a big impact in our lives.

True silence is nonexistent. Humans do not often acknowledge the sounds that are always within them. The heart is a vital organ, a complex structure that pumps and circulates blood. It is a symbol of life and mortality. Yet people are conditioned instinctually to drown out their heartbeats, rarely consciously thinking about this crucial organ and taking it for granted. This exhibition demands acknowledgement from people to appreciate their hearts in both a literal and figurative sense. The audience will wear these body extensions and experience music and vibrations as part of the soul, represented by the heart in the figurative sense, and experience how it would feel to be inside of an actual beating heart while listening to their own amplified heartbeat.

The artists behind Tune in to the Heart wanted to focus on how crucial yet overlooked the heart is. It is one of the most critical components in human beings, and the center of vitality. People often ignore its existence, but in the minds of the artists, this essential organ should resurface and be brought into the light. They wanted their viewers to recognize the heart for its purpose and consider other aspects in the world that often go unnoticed.

The fundamental theme that the artists want their viewers to explore is to realize the importance of the smallest things, and that nothing should be taken for granted. Human beings can become so preoccupied that they are left oblivious to something so crucial for them to live.

My Bridge 2 Experience was very hectic. Many difficulties and obstacles were brought up along the way, and my ideas kept shifting. Even though it seemed that I wouldn’t be able to fully create my idea, it turned out the way I wanted to in the end, teaching me that in order to come out stronger, you must have mistakes.
