Using wooden hands, I was trying to cover them up using non-dry moldable clay in skin-tone colours to create a marble effect onto the hand. I was hoping to use the two light and dark tones to mimic a gradient marble mold and to create depth into the hand. To be safe I tried it on one hand and unfortunately it was very unsuccessful, the cay was very sticky and would not stay in place. The two colours would either blend and it wasn’t giving me the image I pictures in my head. I later on tried to see if I could make the molding look a little rougher, like wood that has been used/scraped or chipped, so I tried pulling the clay downwards and adding more, but eventually it just looked very messy and didn’t match the aesthetic to the wooden calligraphy I previously made. In my continued work, I think I might paint the wooden hand instead, because I want to show the structure of the hand properly, as well as the firmness of the hand, and maybe paint it with colours rather than nude shades.
