Theme: Culture and identity

Ideas around creating either a textile carpet or ceramic plates that use Islamic geometric patterns and Arabic calligraphy to symbolize the culture I grew up in. Includes inspiration from interiors in Islamic architecture, Arabic language, geometric tiles and colours, home decorations and intricate designs.

Batik Fabric:

Made in class by carving out our design, using wax and dying our fabrics. Gave us a sense of incorporating our handmade designs into print.
