D+TM #40 Chris Osborn

D+TM #40 Chris Osborn

What: D+T Masterclass
What: Introducing Digital Electronics
When: Monday 7th of December, 3:20-6pm
Where: Parsons Paris room 500
Who: Chris Osborn

The maker movement has put a rich and accessible ecosystem of digital electronics in the hands of designers. Sometimes it’s too accessible: Arduino can offer the newcomer quick gratification with blinking LEDs only to present an impossible learning curve later. In this session we will take a big step up that learning curve, introducing the fundamentals of electronics, digital information, and circuit design. The goal is to help hardware hackers from non-engineering backgrounds understand what their creations are really doing under the hood, increasing their confidence as they go beyond simple shields and sketches.

Biography:
Chris Osborn studied electrical engineering and computer science at MIT. He now designs software for a living and home beer brewing systems for fun.
