Brighton Beach

Brighton beach is located in the south of Brooklyn, where there is a large Russian-speaking population. Coney Island is a tourists attraction, and it is a place for New Yorkers to go on vacations In the summertime.

Sunset Park

Sunset Park is a safe and developed neighborhood in Brooklyn. It shares dynamic cultures and developed its facility in recent years. On the one hand, this property development created job opportunities and provided citizens with more convenience. On the other hand, it raises the price of the household and pushes many residences aways from the neighborhood.

Bed Stuy

Bed Stuy is neighborhood in Brooklyn. Since the late 1930s, the neighborhood has been a major cultural center for Brooklyn’s African American population. Nowadays, it is a place for rentals and people who rent the building are fighting to preserve the structure instead of it being transform into an individual house.

Roosevelt Island

Roosevelt Island has initially been used principally for hospitals. New York Mayor then redeveloped it. The most unique is the commute system called Tram. Tourists and residents travel through the Manhattan skyline every day to transport between places.

I want to focus on the Sunset Park neighborhood for the next few weeks.

Sunset Park neighborhood sparks my interest due to two factors. The newly rising Industry City brought more employment opportunities but at the same time raised the price of the land. It offered opportunities, but the majority population of Sunset Park couldn’t meet the credentials of the jobs. I am interested in the method of developing this area working together with the real estate and the locals to achieve the best for this community. Also, there is a rising Chinese immigrant in the area. The Brooklyn Chinatown was formed in the area. I am intriguing to find out the needs and concerns of people here and use the designer mindset to solve problems.
