Stage 3 :

Currently, my research indicates the lack of community and bonding on Roosevelt Island. The high wage neighbourhood has many university graduated professionals who work in finance, education, technology and real estate. It is crucial for the residents to find a way to release stress and share happiness. Expressive art, colour and light can make that happy. Through using the SCAMPER model, my idea of a public art-making event transformed into a community drawing station. The station is an outline of the island painted on the ground. Inside the station, people can draw down things that make them happy on a large booklet. Both residents and visitors are welcome to share their emotions as an art form. There will be a history board inside the station to show people how mentally ill people were mistreated in the past. There will be tips provided for people to stay happy and healthy. People can also find resources for support on the side. The purpose of the project is to discover and share your happiness with the community through art-making.
