I learnt from the videos that good design should be flexible, multifunctional and can bring people together. For example, I have never thought about a movable chair in the public gardens are a part of the design. It was fascinating to understand that design is everywhere, and it can change people’s mood and behaviors.
Public spaces are significant to the development of a city. It is truly the element to make people love and enjoy the place. I reflected my favorite spots in the city, which are all public areas.
An essential part of urban planning is to listen to the voices of the people and humanizing the design for them. While weighing profit of the commercial use and the happiness public spaces bring, the second should always be valued.
