OM is a very meaningful symbol to her religion and also it’s a significant item to her family and her. It is an heirloom start from her grandmother. Her grandmother has OM symbol made out with real gold. But they never wear or take the real gold one out. Their family has their own tradition; grandmother pass the gold symbol to her daughter when she get married, which is Ahana’s mother, and Ahana’s mother will pass on to Ahana. Someday when she gets marry and has her child. They put the gold OM symbol bracelet in a box and put it in a safe place. Consequently, they made a same OM symbol using silver. That way their family member can wear this symbol all the time. This silver bracelet has a simply designed, shinning silver OM symbol and well handmade black string. Beside that simply designed, in addition elder family member’s bracelet engraved with tiny diamond around the circle shape. Ahana and her brothers’ bracelet just designed with one tiny diamond on the left upper curve. As Ahana said, girl always wears on the wrist and boys wear on their neck as necklaces.
My concept for this leather bracelet is I want to make something out of the original OM bracelet. So I chose a new techni to work-laser cutter. I separated OM symbol into four different symbol. Omega symbol using capital form Ω , lowercase ω, crescent, and Star (Goat of Mendes). Omega is often used to donote the last, the end, or the ultimate limite of a set. crescent means new moon, derviced from the present participle means “to grow”. Star, goat of Medes, means Harmony. At the end of the bracelet, it has a tiny OM original symbol next to the snaps. This four symbol is the same as OM symbol meaning. All about past, present and future.
