My name is Aria. I’m a fine arts major. This is who I am.
I’m really inspired by the following:
- music
- dreamy and romantic imagery
- emotions (lots of my own)
- contrast / juxtaposition / contradiction
- learning
A lot of my work comes out of my daily experiences existing in the world. I think I use art as a way of understanding my own world view. That being said, the common theme in all of my work is the acknowledgment my own perspective and the retelling of my own narratives. This is catharsis. In terms of methods and materials, my intention in going to art school was learning as much as possible about as many methods and materials as possible. I think this is clear in my work throughout the year. I tried to work in both digital and analog methods using both text and imagery. I made soft structures, videos, large and small scale pieces, 3D collages and more.

Researched work
the highlight of my year was definitely deciding to research gender as well as all of the work that came out of it. I’m not usually passionate about things and I cared a lot about the argument and body of work I was making.
as for the future, I’ve got ideas that I plan on executing, but I won’t be releasing any spoilers.
