John Zorn’s “Khebar” is the product of combining elements from various musical backgrounds and styles. This utilization of infusing separate styles together, allows for the creation of new, unique performance. Improvisation and creativity can be heightened and strengthened with the assistance of a variety of influences coming together. Likewise, myself coming from a background of many different traditions and practices has allowed for me to more effectively create and improvise, drawing from various influences to create new, unique work in my art and music. Khebar infuses aspects of traditional jazz style playing with Hebrew musical techniques to create a unique, beautiful musical piece, and this applies to all of our art forms as well.
