When I went to Union Square, what I found most interesting was the subway. I photographed the interior and exterior of the entrance on the east side of the park. The entrance is comprised of short stone walls surrounding the staircase leading down into the subway. Above, the entrance is a circular, green metal structure, almost resembling the top of a gazebo, with supports running through the middle. The inside of the subway station featured white tiled walls, harsh fluorescent lighting, and large metal cage-like turnstiles, along with many people entering and leaving the station. Beyond the turnstiles, hundreds, if not thousands, of people using the extensive subway system to travel throughout the city.
