1. DESCRIBE the piece using noticing skills.
- Please describe a minimum of five different noticings you have.
-They all have the same aesthetic, same size, limited palette, nice movement and texture, seems like watercolor and markers or pen, one with border less definitive than other four
2. ANALYZE the piece using the Elements and Principles of Design
- What are five separate elements or principles of design that you noticed in the piece you chose?
- Please describe how these elements or principles are employed (used) in the piece.
- What relationships do you notice among the elements?
-Shapes in backgrounds define movement and space, organic shapes, value in space, perception of foreground and background, swiveling shapes through face direct eye from top to bottom, use of light and dark creates depth, thin precise linework, mostly curved lines, lines emphasize organic shapes, color contrast helps emphasize focal points, chose color harmony, attention to scale
3. INTERPRET: Practicing Bohmian Arising/ Self Noticing:
- What connections do you make
- to your life?
- the world?
- What elements of design do you notice – and how do those portray the essence of the piece? (You will need to decide what the essence is… is it concrete, is it representational, is it abstract, is it symbolic (of what), are you “receiving†any emotions from the piece?)
-looks like storyboard for movie, reminiscent of avatar, futuristic
4. NOTE TO THE ARTIST:
- If you could tell the artist anything about their work – what would you say? (Remember that they will be reading this and that it is public.)
- Think about the INTERPRET portion of the DAI… Please recommend a website, article, book, artist, film, blog to the artist. (Remember that they will be reading this on your ELP and that it is public.)
-Was the graphite border intentional? What encouraged the differentiation between the portrait without bleed, and the four illustrations with evident bleed?
