Reflection

Adapting to a new community can be difficult at the beginning. I can relate to it because since I was 5 years old, I used to live in Westport, CT with my family. I remember having an easy and happy lifestyle. One day my parents decided to move to Istanbul, Turkey. It was very difficult to leave my old life and start a new chapter. The first day in my new kindergarten in Istanbul was very hard for me to adapt. There were no familiar faces and they spoke a language that was hard to understand, Turkish. At first, I thought I was going to be alone because I felt different. Even though I had a hard time fitting into a new community, I never stopped trying to learn new things, such as learning to speak a new language etc.
