This project’s prompt was to create an interior using Illustrator, photoshop, and any forms of analog. I immediately thought of a teenage bedroom – an interior that has been important and still continues to be important and very prominent in my life. Teenage bedrooms are essential, as they create a safe place for a changing teenager. For me right now, having a dorm room/bedroom to come home to from school is important while living in a new place. The first image is from my drawing of the classroom. I was really nervous about this drawing because analog scares me, but I am very pleased with the outcome. The second image is my inspiration/source material for my project, consisting of Petra Collins photographs and Polly Nor videos/installations. The third image is my Illustrator traced version of the classroom using the pen tool. I loved tracing this because it is very methodical, but the best part was using that tracing to create my interior. For the fourth picture, I used the Photoshop fill tool, patterns in Illustrator, several blending modes, posterization, the brush tool, the distort tool, and gradients along with the found posters, lamp, bed, plants, ceiling, and rug. I manipulated the tools I was allocated to create a project I love and truly am proud of.
Madeline, I wish I could enlarge these images, however they don’t get any bigger. Is there a better way you can resolve this?
