Archive Visit

During my visit to the archive I found myself easily distracted by the plethora of different artifacts. In my experience,  the most intriguing piece I found during our visit actually didn’t have anything to do with my project, but it did inspire me to find an artifact related to my project. These artifact was a historical book about how America used comic books as war propaganda during the Second World War. Although this book wasn’t related to my project, it gave me the inspiration to search for a newspaper article that was related to my chosen area: The High Line. Unfortunately, because the High line is such a new attraction in New York City, my search wasn’t successful. That being said, from my own research I discovered an online archive by the name of Greenwich Village Society for Historical Preservation. This archive had a photo taken in 1962 that was of the original train track being taken down. Years later, the remaining track would become the High Line.
