Bridge Project “Peer to Peer”

Our previous theme of Studio and Seminar classes is “peer to peer”. The core concept of this theme from both classes is trust. We have to trust our peers in order to experience the theme. In the Studio class, we went to central park for an interesting activity. There are three roles in this activity. The guide, the guided, the observer. In order to achieve the goal, we have to trust each other completely. I felt very different from each roles. As a guide, I felt like a cane, I have to touch the ground first and support my peer. As a guided, it is very hard in the beginning because I can not see. I felt insecure and stressed. As observer, my avatar is a  reporter, the one who went to battle field. I tried to catch everything when my peers are experiencing.

In the seminar class, we did something totally different. We wrote letters to partners. We have to write about our current fears. It could be everything. I think this activity requires us to trust our peers much more. We have to write down our deep thoughts, sharing our vulnerabilities to each other. We also have to spend some time on envelopes. It should not be just a simple envelope but a envelope that foreshadow your fears. We also have to write about the avatar we chose when we were riding the carousel. We also have to use Sol’s style when he wrote to Eva. Drawing fears. A poem is also required. We combined our reading into the letters, which I found very interesting. It shifted my traditional thought of writing a letter. It makes writing more interesting and we have to think more, which is very inspiring.
