Past/Future
bone is strong yet when looked at closely it is imperfect, it has holes within it’s structure. To me this represents the process of failure, building and learning upon that failure to create a whole that is strong and unique. I constructed the garment using sheer fabric so the structure of the garment could be visible to the viewer just as the structure of bone becomes visible under microscope. The front of the garment represents the future and the back represents the past. I chose the form of a bralette because of the confidence and power lingerie holds as an article of clothing. I wanted to portray the confidence I discover(ed) in myself and in my future as I got into fashion design and as I continue to develop my skills.
