Individually, each object holds its own in telling a small story from my life. Taken together, the objects suggest a sense of luxury without the need of taking oneself seriously. The method of presentation, an installation combining all of the objects, suggests my belief in the creation (and perhaps even marketing) of a certain lifestyle. This lifestyle is marked by design that is inspired by emotion. This emotion is dealt with through material, form, and function. In some cases, the objects are regarded as beautiful for their function. In some cases, the objects are entirely decorative. Together, these aspects suggest my belief that good design is impossible if it isn’t fueled both by a story and technical skill.
