1. Recurring themes in his work include “smooth geometric lines, translucency, strength, transparency, and [the] absence of sharp edges”. I would add to this that he uses the element of surprise in his designs really effectively.
2. From studying Newson, I learned that designers can sometimes use simplicity for maximum effect in their work. Newson uses pops of color to define the interiors and exteriors of his work, creating a surprise for the viewers.
