My artifact is a pair of pointe shoes. I chose to collage and add personal meaning to the shoes in hopes to demonstrate my experience in this place – my dance studio. One side represents the hours of practice and rehearsal put into improving my technique. Whereas, the other side represents once I have reached the level of precision necessary to compete. The matching shapes tie the two artifacts to one another, and the difference in representation shows the contrast between the two.
