Dodecahedron
When given this assignment I was having a hard time thinking of how to represent my culture in such a confined space as a dodecahedron. I have lived in 3 different cultures in my life (so far), two of which have really shaped me as a person so I decided to show how they have influenced who I am today. The first thing I did was the planning, writing everything down really helped me know what materials I had to buy, what dimensions I would be working with and more or less how I was going to bring it all to life. I decided to cut out a figure made of cardboard to represent me as a blank slate that would be surrounded by thread with the colors of the flags of the places I lived (United States and Brazil) the most difficult part was figuring out how I was going to suspend the figure. At first I thought I was going to have many stings of thread holding up the cardboard figure, similar to a spiderweb, but after speaking to my teacher we had decided that it would be too crowded and that it would take the attention away from the figure so then I tried using the least amount of thread to hold the figure but then it looked like a noose which lead me to suspend him in 3 different directions which gave the figure an interesting pose which I ended up enjoying more.

Good beginning, needs for iterations and experimenting with the tension of tread and wrapped figure.
Does not have the same visual engagement as your culture poster.
More figures, different sizes, in a visually busy web of tension inducing treads may be the way to go!
