The Earthquake
In this assignment, our professor assigned us to come up with a slide show in which we can show up our skills in tools InDesign, PremierePro, and Audition. Also, this project had to reflect our personality while studying the conception of time.
I decided to choose my first encounter with an earthquake as my theme. This memory of mine represents all the needs for this project. It portrays a very vulnerable side of me and shows my true colors. When you face a near-death experience people tend to visualize flashbacks which messes up with the original theme of time. I decided to portray my process of escaping my hotel room using both striking images and powerful audio.
I included flashbacks between my original storyline. As a result of this voice of mine, I had to use two different versions of pictures. I decided to use stock images for the original timeline while using photos from my family album for highlighting flashbacks. I edited all of my pictures in Photoshop to make them appear more worn out and vintage as they survived an actual earthquake. In addition, I decided to apply a border all over the pictures to create harmony and make the video appear more unique.
For sounds, I had to make an extensive very research. I had to travel back to my memories in order to remember the sounds I captured at that moment. Once I decided on the type of sound I want in my video I looked for them in the sound generator sites. Half of the storyline takes part in Disneyland which symbolizes happy memories. For that portion of my video, I gathered some sounds of children playing and laughing. Also, I have found the original soundtrack of the park which they play during the day for the visitors, so I added that in the background. On the other hand, this video also has a very dark and scary part too. For this part, I used sounds of rumbling and shaking objects alongside sirens. All these unique sounds made my massage appear even. more vividly.

For this project, we have to create this layout using InDesign to visualize our storyline and arrange our pictures for a better understanding of our themes.
