In this assignment, our professor assigned us to come up with soundscapes of our selected room at present time. This assignment pushes us to raise our awareness of our surroundings as a constructed environment made from sound and to teach ourselves a new software where we can edit our recorded audio.
The Process
I used my phone’s “Voice Memo” app to record my own sounds. Then, I uploaded these sounds to Adobe Audition to arrange and mix them. After that, I exported my multitrack session, and with the help of our professor’s tutorial, I managed to upload my file to SoundCloud as a private song.

- Entering the room.
- Opening the sketchpad.
- Sketching with graphite pencil.
- Lighting the candles with a lighter.
- Crystals clashing with each other.
- Exiting the room via the balcony. (dogs barking)
