Eames: The Architecture and The Painter

That one moment I immediately envisioned myself in was the scene where the documentary presented us the Eames house. The image portrays Charles and Ray Eames’ house, which has a simplistic shell blessed with enchanting objects that brings a unique quality to the room. Eames couple approaches every surface of their house as a blank canvas and unapologetically decorates them with making collages out of their everyday objects. This constructed environment radiates the couples’ authentic vibration as two designers ahead of their time. The main reason behind this enchanting atmosphere is that every object filling the house has a spiritual connection with its owner. I can vividly see myself in a house like that in several years since I am currently in a room similar to it. I also approach the space as a blank canvas, and my passion for collaging brings out the maximalist style of mine. On the left-hand side, we can capture their artifacts being displayed on a bookshelf which is a picture that I tend to create by storing my collections and gifts from my family members and friends on my shelves. Trough out the documentary, it has been stated that Charles and Ray Eames both pay extraordinary attention to the objects they choose to surround themselves with in order to create a seamless environment that can be seen from their way of designing furniture. After watching the documentary, I have noticed that I kind of have the same vision towards my everyday objects, which may be why I found their home so similar to mine as we both show respect to objects in a similar way.
