LP Journal Entry: Artifacts – Week 7

When I think about the word “artifacts”, I think about museums and anthropologists digging up objects from the past. However, to be artifacts things don’t have to be dug up or covered in dust, things we have around us today can be considered artifacts as well. I had never thought about it this way but with the readings we have been doing these past week I have started looking at things with a different light. I feel like artifacts are what we make of them. The objects we use today, no matter how minuscule or irrelevant they seem, depending on the meaning we put on them, can be defined as artifacts. That is truly mind boggling to think.
