For my inspiration part of the project I picked the theme transformation on Art 21. The three feature artist under that theme were Yinka Shonibare, Cindy Sherman, and Paul McCarthy.
What I took away from each artist was how they didn’t want to always satisfy the viewers. Another thing was the transformation of their art and the way they make their arts to replicate others in their own ways. Shonibare and Cindy both worked with replicating fine art.
In Shonibare costumes you can see that he makes these 18th century fashion in new colorful patterns, however having these jokes about the French Revolution and or evening the British empire. With Cindy Sherman, we how she transforms herself in different characters and not just by adding costumes but also working with photoshop in her recent works. My favorite works was from the time she was inspired by movies and she made her own scene but during moments it would seems lost, the after math shock. Finally with Paul McCarthy, was transforming himself through acting in films, from spaces, from paces and even
The theme of transformation would go well with my obsession because I also enjoy showing things in my own personal perspective and transform it to a new thing. Like many artist do it already.
