B2: Exhibition Text

The ELdridge Experience is aimed to connect the client Emily Lee’s past, present, and future within the interactive design of the project. The supporting map element is designed to heighten the interactive emphasis of the experience. The illustration of the map follows the idea of simplicity and a laid-back easiness. Following the modern-styled packaging, the warm-toned color palette of the map provides a consistency that go along with the visually appealing aesthetics of the rest of the ELdridge Experience.

The individual maps that are contained inside of each numbered packaging are integral parts of the interaction of the experience as a whole. Combined with the pull-out boxes of the packaging, each piece of scrolled map plays with an element of surprise and excitement since the user is unaware of the specifics of each location until opening the boxes, therefore creating a sense of anticipation and enhancing the intercommunication of the user and product. The directions and introductions to each location presents a comprehensive understanding of how each place represents a moment of the user’s life, as well as strengthening the connection between the user and the experience. Together, the map acts as a complementary part of the ELdridge Experience and establishes a network between the physical site to the abstract representation of the user’s memories from the past, and aspirations of the future.
