My Animation will be a combination of a live action video of me and an animated version of my doodle characters. The video will be of me walking down the street with my head primarily down, while my characters are either interacting with my body or in the space around me. The goal of the characters is to get my attention and towards the end when I’m directly looking at one, then the screen will cut to black leaving the end result ambiguous.
My final animations will look somewhat similar to this style frame. After I learn masking and tracking in after effects, I want to be able to make my characters be either behind or in front of me. The current technique I used for this style frame was by drawing on the video layer I shot earlier, however I don’t want the digital brushes to cover my entire body. For my characters I want to establish the illusion of depth between them and me.
Storyboard – The beginning and last frames I haven’t shot yet. I might get rid of the first frame from the storyboard because the overall video is already over a minute long.
This is my storyboard/animatic. I just drew onto the video layer itself or else the image wouldn’t have shown up on a separate layer, however I didn’t do enough frames so the animated placements of the characters show up really fast. The music choice is already set and I have done a quick rough edit of it. The overall video will look like this, but there may be some scenes I shorten and I may alter some of the characters placements.
