The first day of the daily assignment was fairly simple. I took some yarn, and knitted a small strip of fabric. Afterwards, I tied the tails of the yarn to create scarf-like form, unintentionally of course.
The second day I just took a post-it note, and some Q-tips and combined them together with hot glue. It was a weird experiment that ended up not living up to my expectation. I learned that controlling the amount of hot glue that comes out is fairly difficult, and also the glue hardens really quickly so I’d have to pre plan the placement of the Q-tips.
The other objects are still a work in progress, because I forgot about how these objects had to be made on a daily basis. However, I have been hoarding random materials that I will be using to experiment to create my objects.
To conclude, this week has been a slow start to the project, but I will just try to sit down and just create without hesitation. The experimentation aspect is nerve-wracking, but I know in the end my spontaneity will create interesting forms.
