Nastya Ptichek- Social Media

After centering myself I decided to research artist that show technologies impact through art. At this point I came across the artist  Nastya Ptichek and I found her work breathtaking. One piece from 2014 stood out to me the most out of them all I was looking at. Ptichek took an old piece of art from 1958 created by Edward Hopper and showed social medias work on society through that. Her whole idea was to take popular pieces of work and implant social platforms onto it, highlighting things like the social media request icons and updates. But while at the same time she works on series that touch base with emojis and not only collaborations with old historian art. I think she’s able to capture the struggle between society now and society back then in an extremely powerful way.
