For this assignment, I am introducing three different ideas that I can possibly work on for my final project.
• Designing a mock brand
For this idea, I would design a mock brand called “A TINT.” “A TINT” is a mock sauce and jam brand that has a packaging which resembles an acrylic paint bottle. I would design a business card, website, and possible advertising methods alongside the packaging itself.

I ordered these items so I that I at least have a minimal visualization about my packaging and methods of advertisement.
• Exploring expressions
For this idea, I was thinking about shooting a video on how people react to different types of packagings by catching the emotions they show and the lanbguage they use to describe the packaging.
- Packaging with vibrant colors and a playful mood
- Packaging with the simplest design
- Packaging that needs to convey seriousness and trust
I can record the reactions to these packagings through the medium of video. I can probably incorporate different groups of target audience by age.
• In Korean culture, the baby’s first birthday is considered to be very important. This ceremony called doljanchi blesses the child with a prosperous future. At doljanchi, one of the must-do tradition is something called a doljabi. Doljabi is when the parent lays out a bunch of objects regarding the child’s future. For example, money is supposed to mean wealth, string is supposed to mean long life, microphone is supposed to mean entertainer, pencil is supposed to mean scholar, baseball is supposed to mean an athlete, and so on and so forth.
This is what doljabi looks like often time.
So I was thinking of incorporating this idea into a mock advertisement. I would lay out different packagings in front of different age groups and see which item each individuals would choose, and possibly make this into an advertisement.
