Reading Reflection: Cartography and the Death

In Cartography and the Death of Mapping, Denis Wood refers to maps as if they are humans. He mentions different cultures around the world that don’t agree with or accept the maps because of the way they are “dressed” and who was in authority when creating them. Later, he mentions how the government and google earth have too much power with surveillance and control. He sparks up questions like which countries have more control? Or are they all trying to take over the world? He then talked about something called Protest Maps, which is basically when people disagree with a map and protest what they believe is wrong with it. A commonly known example would be flat earth believers disagreeing with the scientifically proven round earth.
