- There is a lock in the middle of the picture that is surrounded by squares with different colors. The keyhole of the lock is yellow. Her composition, color choices, shapes, the outline of the lock, and the white background color are the five elements that I noticed.
- This one attracts me because it’s the only one among the five that uses a white background color, and also it seems abstract.
- In her artist statement, she says that the squares with different colors are representing different people who pass through the turnstile. I think to use a lock without color to represent security is a nice decision because security is something that is important but invisible. It somehow reminds me of Mondrian’s artwork, since they all have colorful rectangular shapes representing an abstract idea.
