For my seminar research paper, I’m writing about how the character design and level design behind Super Mario Bros. make the game become a true classic. For this studio project, I’m more focused on the characters that are very impressive to players. I wanted to create a similar exciting feeling to when players open the game, therefore I created the three pop-up cards so that when you open them there are things coming at you. I made the cards based on the normal scene, the water scene, and the piranha flower because to me these are the most striking things that are always stuck in my mind after playing the game.
