Urban Adaptation Garment
Theme: Personal Space Invaded by Pollution and Aggression

My brand’s name is the Spanish word “Milenaria”, or millenary in the English language. I chose this name because China is one of the most famous millenary cultures in the world. In Chinatown we could see how pollution and aggression disturbed the expression of the culture. Making it very difficult for a person to see the beauty of the Chinese culture, aggression and pollution invade your personal space while visiting.
This garment is inspired by the things that contaminate Chinatown and how pollution can invade personal space. Through the use of the symbolic color red, seen throughout Chinatown, and triangular forms representing pollution and aggression my garment adapts to it’s intended environment creating the sense of a lack of personal space.
