MoMA
So Monday Ben and I visited the MoMA, We saw “Christopher Williams:The Production Line of Happiness”.
Being a huge photography fan, I found this exhibition super interesting. The main theme, as I understood it, had to deal with the theme “Fake”, because almost everything was shot in some sort of studio, or manipulated in some way. Even the pictures of people were posed, and unnatural.
Here are a few pieces I found interesting:
This particular type of beetle is a “feigning death (or dead, or something) beetle” (Fake anyone?)
Ben said this picture reminded him of Tel-Aviv. Its actually a beach in Cuba.
This is actually a lighting test for a photo shoot. Still unsure why she is in towels (??) (something about the color maybe?)
And ditto. (love the photography of a machine that is used for photography)
Aaaaand me and Ben’s mandatory #selfie.
Thanks for reading!
MAD BIENNIAL
Its hard to believe I’ve been coming to the city so long and not known about this fantastic museum!
I went on Saturday (booooo rain) with my boyfriend who was visiting for the weekend. We visited two exhibits: MAD Biennial (NYC Makers), and Multiple Exposures. Both were equally inspiring and interesting! Below are some pictures of some things I found most interesting.
Truly beautiful paint splatter canvas by Yoko Ono herself, and a matching video (not shown) to explain how she splatter the canvas with said paint.
Masks anyone?? Digital “jewelry” allows you to see false reality.
another sculpture with a “mask” like vibe
Okay this was seriously cool, a camera and software that would 3D you and the room around you and put it up on this giant screen.
My mandatory #selfie with some backlights and fake plants in the “fake” nightclub room in the exhibit.
Do I look extremely uncomfortable here?? Its because I am.
Okay now some small snippets from “Multiple Exposures”. An exhibition regarding jewelry and photography!
