NEW SCHOOL ARCHIVAL RESEARCH EXERCISE
Part 1
All pictures are in color and were taken using a film camera. The first few pictures are cohesive in that they are all taken at the same event, in the same room, wight he same person for the first few pictures. The next five pictures are also cohesive, they all have a NEATO inflatable device pictured. Some are taken in an auditorium, some are in a hallway. One is a close up of the balloons attached to the inflatable.  Another close up of drawings of vegetables attached to the inflatable device. The pictures have a vintage feel, and look candid. All areas look to be lit by fluorescents, so the corners of the film are under developed.
Part 2
(see pt.1). Judging by clothing and environment/type of pictures, it was probably around 1970’s.
Part 3
1. What is the tube? What is it’s significance?
2. What is the relation of the tube to the images of vegetables?
3. Why is the tube called a NEATO inflatable?
4. What are the speakers discussing?
5. Was this an isolated event?

IRON IVY

Iron Ivy by Van Leeuwen is a short piece regarding fire escapes and their place in New York City as well as the aesthetic quality they bring. This was a really interesting read and a different perspective on a structure often overlooked in day-to-day life.
