Reflection
Choosing my object was easy because it is the only toy I have held onto for this long and the only one I have a significant attachment to. My main focus was the psychological connections between children and their toys. Once I understood what a bear represents, I realized what the teddy means to the child. The bear is an aggressive protector of beings and fills the void for children who have lost that dominant protective role. I wanted to convey this relationship between child and teddy bear in my final. The final piece shows the bear is defending the child from the surrounding reality; through this reassurance, a bubble of paradise is created for the child.
Personal Object Sculpture
I used rolled up paper as a base and then stretched the rubber bands around it.

Oldenburg-based Sculpture
For the second sculpture I was inspired by the verb split, and hence created a teddy bear with a spilt in its head. For the interior and exterior I used my old baby clothes, and sewed the pieces together.
