Assignment: find a piece of furniture in which to create multiple viewpoints with an orthographic drawing.
My object was The New School’s library table, as I like the roundness of its legs in contrast with a more traditional table top. Capturing the measurements and converting them to scale, using an architects scale, was an interesting new challenge. I used a measuring tape, and also Apple’s measure app to capture the dimensions of the table. The most difficult dimension to capture and portray in the drawing was the table legs, as their curved form prevented me from obtaining the exact measurement.
