Background:
I often find that my friends and I find a sense of affinity when we experience cannabis socially, a phenomenon that many cannabis users can attest to. So the question to me becomes how to bring that sense of comfort and home into cannabar-like spaces. I particularly think this project will come to fruition with the help of my natural ability to work and connect with people.
Problem:
The current cannabis lounges, cafes, and restaurants lack a quality that would set the standard of what social cannabis spaces encompass. More specifically, there is an opening for cannabis social clubs to better serve people of color that is economically accessible.
Solution:
My solution exists around creating hubs for people of color, in which socialization, spirituality, and nature would act as main principles guiding the creation of the space. This hub exists as a safe space for them to expand their sense of belonging in the cannabis community.
Innovation:
My innovation most aligns with changing the position of a service and product. Being that the cannabis industry already exists, my goal is to bring a new position to cannabis spaces socially and environmentally.
