Lore and Lure Project

Mind, Body, Soul

From a young age, I found myself observing the world from a zoomed-out perspective. Dealing with early childhood loss snapped me out of my fairytale-like fantasy and thrust me into reality. Initially, developing this consciousness felt like a curse—a confusing and sometimes painful journey. However, the presence of loving, resilient, and supportive friends and family steered me towards a different path. As I matured, reality became more livable and lovable. I perceive myself and the world through three distinct lenses: mind, body, and soul. My art, life, and worldview are in constant reflection, exploration, and growth within these elements. My interests in life are intrinsically connected to these three facets as well. Nature serves as my primary source of inspiration, as it exemplifies the way I aspire to live my own life. Music, ceramics, hiking, family, and friends are all nourished by the natural world to which we belong. The circularity of all things guides my life and becomes a central theme in this project.

My body serves as the space and vessel that houses the mind and soul. It constantly changes, grows, and learns from the spatial environment and from within. Within my body reside the memories of my childhood, the ongoing assimilation of experiences, and the DNA that shapes my appearance. To me, the mind represents the most intricate component of the entire natural system. The inner conflict between voices can cause confusion and anxiety, but on the contrary, it also brings warmth and a sense of wholeness. Just as the body needs training, the mind requires cultivation—similar to preparing for a specific task or job. Within my mind, I hold the memories of the past, future, and present. Currently, my mind feels somewhat constrained by fear, yet it is simultaneously expanding and searching for more. It can both hinder and encourage growth. Lastly, there is my soul, my innermost self, which I am honestly still striving to discover. I intend to convey this journey by illustrating the aura or essence within a looking glass. Though sounding cliché, love and the need to care for others is what embodies my soul. Hosting friends and family and creating a comfortable environment allowed me to understand people better. By observing, listening, learning, and caring, I always strive to make people genuinely comfortable and encourage them to be themselves in my shared space.
