The title I chose for my game is Issues and Images. The sole purpose of the game I chose to create was to introduce and teach the reality of sexism in the media to teens, from the age of fifteen to nineteen, through a book of visually interesting puzzles. I created a three-dimensional puzzle book with two puzzles that covered what sexism is, the gender inequality gap in the media, and how women are objectified in the media.
Game Rules:
This two-player game comes with two envelopes. Each envelope contains a puzzle that has a designated page in the book. The envelopes have a letter written on them with a corresponding letter in a page of the book. The first envelope that belongs to the first page has an S and an O the second envelope has a G. Both players must grab the pieces in the envelope and help each other form the puzzle inside the corresponding page. Each puzzle has pieces that will fit together to create an informative collage about different aspects of sexism in the media. After the players manage to put together the puzzle, they will have an image with a variety of symbols, numbers, and pictures. They must search within the picture in order to find symbols, images, and data that represent sexism. Each puzzle contains a key of sexism list with words, definitions, and data. Players must use the key for guidance in finding the symbols, numbers, images and representations of each puzzle. Once the players have found the hidden meanings, they must collect their findings by taking a picture of what is found. Players can use any cellular device to do this. Based on the key, take a picture of what you think it means. In order to move on to the next puzzle, both players must post their findings, along with the meanings, on any social media platform with the hash tag, #stopsexism. Players must follow these steps until they finish both puzzles.
