For this video project I had to create a short film with a narrative. I used Adobe Premiere to edit and create my film, and I shot everything on my iPhone. In a basic description, I video taped my friend dancing in the subway and then on top of an apartment rooftop. A deeper meaning of the video relates to the struggles of being a dancer in New York City. Most dancers come move to New York City in hopes of having a career in dance. Normally when they leave their home and studio they are one of the top dancers, when they arrive in the city they have to start over. They are at the bottom of the dance hierarchy. Slowly dancers who don’t give up will eventually make it to the top and have a career. The subway represents the bottom of the dance hierarchy and the skyline represents the top. Using inspiration from my City Spring film, I edited the colors dull in the subway scenes and more saturated in the skyline scenes.
