For my wire hand, I chose to let it hold my grandmother’s rosary. Besides the fact that I come from the Roman Catholic community, this rosary is a token I got to keep of hers after she passed away in July 2016. It serves as a constant reminder to me of her and her devotion to the Catholic church. With this to remember her by, my aspiration to follow in her footsteps grows stronger and stronger with each passing day.
How I chose to create the hand itself was to outline each finger individually with the wire in the position I wanted the whole hand to be in. Then, I outlined my whole hand and fixated it into the desired position. After that, I coiled wire around each finger, and eventually the whole hand to give the model more dimension.
