Wolf in a Girl

Scene 1:

In this world, a small town called Bellmare was built next to a forest. However, there’s a separation of animals. People never crossed the dividing line between the city and timber, and they lived a life that doesn’t bother each other. One night during a blizzard, a young couple left a baby girl at the door of an orphanage in the town, and they disappeared, the people in orphanage heard the sound of children crying outside. “Who dropped this child?” A woman came out, and said, looking confused. No one answered. There’s no other way to find the baby home. They adopted the baby and named her Christina.

Twelve years passed, it was another snowy night. Christina prepared to sleep, lying in bed quietly. Heavy snow was outside, the wind howled and piled snow into drifts. The street light was too bright; although she was sleepy, she barely closed her eyes. In a while, the scene in front of Christina became fuzzy. She seemed to see something besides a street light. Slowly, she fell asleep, and then she had a wondrous dream. Christina dreamed about herself, a baby laid there, wearing the same clothes of the day that she got abandoned. At the time in the forest, a she-wolf called Nomo accidentally lost one of her baby wolves. Nomo was crazy looking for her child, she ran all over the wood and howled a hundred times loudly. However, no response for her. Nomo worried the baby wolf went to the human world that was in danger.

Nevertheless, she knew soberly it’s wrong to enter the human world, she couldn’t cross that line. Therefore, although Nomo was extremely anxious about her baby, she stayed in her den for a long time just waiting for the little wolf to come back. The winter night was too long. Still, no one found Christina. Christina may be gradually freezing to death on the street.

Scene 2:

Nomo howled all the time while waiting, hoping that her puppy could hear the familiar sound. It was nearly dawn; there was not much time left for Nomo to search in the town before humans woke up. Nomo lifted her paw, then stopped. She hesitated. If Nomo cannot find her puppy and over stay in the city, it meant an end for her life; but if Nomo left without her kids, the young wolves would be suffering forever. Time was running out; mother wolf had to make a choice.

Suddenly, Nomo rushed into the alley like a flash and began her search. She has to smell every corner to check if her puppy had been there, at the meanwhile, she also needed to hear if there was any sound around that might be from her kid. Nomo kept running and running; her legs became stiff and cold that she can not even feel it. A brave wolf warrior now became a white sculpture. The snow on the fur slowed her movement. Everything in her view started blurring. It looked like her journey had reached an end. Then suddenly, a human walked by, holding something in her arms. Nomo could hear this mother sobbing. Then, this human stopped in front of a building, leaving the “thing” near a street light then ran away crying. Nomo turned around planned to find her puppy with her last couple moments, and she heard a very tiny voice, a baby voice.

Nomo walked to that “thing,” it was a baby wrapped with swaddling cloth. The baby opened her big eyes when Nomo was around her; that was Christina. She stared at Nomo fearlessly and then laughed. Nomo was shocked when this kid was smiling in front of a wolf; she started to be curious about this human baby. Then, the ring from the church bell broke the peace, Nomo had to go, but yet she still had not found her puppy. Nomo looked at Cristina, thinking about this human baby. She made a choice. Nomo bit the clothes and carried Cristina to the woods. From then on, Cristina began her life with the wolves. Nomo treated Christina as a little wolf, and also protected her from other animals. Nomo taught Christina how to hunt and survive the very environment, and also make her accept eating fresh animal meat. As time passed by, Christina grew up to a twelve years old girl; she runs like a wolf, behaves like a wolf, and eats like a wolf, she even has her teeth sharpened just like a beast. One day, Christina was playing with other wolves, they were chasing each other. However, Christina encountered a black bear, who wanted to eat her. She was scared and started to escape. There were no wolves noticed that she disappeared.

Scene 3:

As Christina continue running barefoot in the rainforest, she got to a point where her breath came in short sharp that couldn’t match with her steps. At the time, Christina knows that she needed to run faster to escape from what is behind her. However, Christina knew that her injured feet started to kicks in and realized that she no longer has the energy to run. Also, Christina came up with a realization where if she stops running, she might put herself in danger. That said, Christina found a huge tree branch and dig a hole right underneath it so she can hide from the monster. As time go by, Christina saw the outline of the house to her left as the beam of light shone in front of her. She then decided to count to ten and took a deep breath and set for another run until she gets to where she wanted to go. “Keep on going, keep on going,” Christina told herself until she saw a human figure thing right in front of her eyes next to the complex By the time Christina reaches to where the sunlight is, she now then entered the human’s world where nobody knows who she is. The moment she reaches the house, she then saw a woman staring at her with a pretty confused facial expression. As the story mentioned earlier about how Christina was born in human’s world but then raised by wolves, Christina was afraid to interact with the woman. The person that Christina saw right by the house, her name is called “Lily.” Lily is an ordinary mother where she is married to her husband. However, Lily’s husband passed away a few months after they got married due to a severe car accident. Ever since then, Lily been living the farmland by herself.  As the story continues, Christina climbed towards the tree and tried to hide from Lily. Lily then waved at Christina and said, “Hey sweetheart, why do you look so frightened? Is anything ok?” Christina wasn’t sure what Lily was saying because she does not understand human language. Lily then went back to her house and grabbed food for Christina to grab Christina’s attention. When Lily was in the house trying to get food for Christina, she had a long conversation with her husband about how to do with Christina because Lily knew that Christina does not have a place to stay, plus she noticed that Christina’s left leg got injured. So Christina and her husband came up with an agreement of keeping Christina and take care of her until she is fully healed

Scene 4:

From birth to an early age, the most animal will immediately become loyal and obedient to their own and can trust one another. After Christina living with Lily for about ten years, Christina now can pick up signals from Lily and do things that Lily tells her to do.  At first, Christina wasn’t that easy to train since she grew up with animals in the forest. During the beginning of Christina’s training session with Lily, the first thing that Lily taught her was to learn how to walk like a human. The reason why Lily wanted to put that as the priority of her training routine is that she doesn’t want other people who live in the same farm to look at Christina as an animal-like human being. Towards the beginning of Christina’s training with Lily, Christina started with wearing actual shoes and baby walkers. At first, Christina keeps on refuse to wear shoes because she was raised not to wear anything on her feet back in the animal kingdom. The reason why Lily wanted Christina to learn how to walk is in order for Christian not just to look at a human, but “walk” like a normal human being as well. It didn’t take that long for Christina to learn how to walk. However, the process of learning how to talk and speak in human language is one of the toughest things that Christina need to overcome with and be good like it. Because without that she wouldn’t be able to communicate with others and that is going to set her apart from human, and Lily does not want that to happen to Christina. During Christina’s process of learning how to speak, Lily started using simple words and keep on reading children’s stories to her just so that Christina can get used to hearing the human language and not be afraid of listening to the human speech as well. After months of training with Lily, Christina now can finally communicate with people and walk properly just like a human.

Scene 5:

As time goes by, Christina spends five years with Lily already but she also does not forget about Nomo at all. Nomo and Lily both are her mothers. She also shares with Lily about her experience with Nomo and other wolves. At this moment, Christina’s mother Lily is getting older and older. She has full of white hair and no teeth. So Lily only can be able to eat some soup. Christina takes care of her mother very carefully. Lily is her only one human family. Lily is the connection between Christina and the human world. Christina told Lily before that she had been raised up by a wolf, so she is different from other kids. Christina may not fully understand what Lily says to her. However, she knows that Lily loves her. Other farmers do not like Christina since when Christina first came to the farm. All the people on the farm believe that she is not a human. They think Christina is a freak person. Christina was acting like an animal when she first got there. The children were crying when they saw Christina. Other people refused to have Cristina into the farm. So she only can feel a warm-heart from Lily. However, no one can control how long his or her life would be. Lily gets a kind of unexpected illness, so the doctor says he cannot help with it, and Lily only has a couple of days left. At this moment, there is a conflict begins between Christina and other human beings. Other people on the farm believe that Christina should not waste their money to find another doctor. They all think that this is the time for Lily to die or end of her life. After a couple of days, Lily dead. Since her mother has been gone, so there is no one would protect her anymore. Christina feels disconnected from the human world. She does not know where she can go. At that moment, Christina misses Nomo and Lily. She loses her mothers.

Christina still lives in Lily’s house. She does everything as usual. However, she thinks that other farmers cannot be forgiven, they refuse her to save Lily. After Lily dead, other people still have some stereotype on Christina. Before Lily was protecting her, these people did not have any particular action. However, now, everything has been changed. Christina feels isolated from other human beings. They do not eat dinner with her, and they do not go outside with her. All the parents tell their children do not talk with Christina since she is a monster. They feel unfair to feed Christina, and do not want this extra person to live in Lily’s house. The farm is pretty small; the farmers do not wish Christina to live with them anymore. Moreover, they all believe that Christina would bring bad luck to them.

One day, some people meet together secretly. These people are making a plan to kill Christina. They do not want other people to think they are murders. So they want to pretend that Christina dies naturally or by accident. They believe the best way is to use fire. One night, after Christina sleeps. The farmers want to burn Christina, so they throw many torches into her house. Then they run away immediately. The fire gets stronger and stronger. When Christina wakes up, there is full of fire and smoke. She has nowhere to go. She was suffering in the fire. In the midnight, everyone on the farm is sleeping so no one notice the fire yet.

Scene 6:

Wolves notice about the smoke of the fire immediately. Animal’s smell is much better than human beings. So Nomo comes to save Christina. When Christina spends her time with human beings, Nomo is looking at the farm with a distance all the time. Nomo wants to make sure Christina is safe. Wolf is a very loyal animal. Nomo already counts Christina as one of her babies. At this time Nomo comes. Christina realizes Nomo by hearing the howl. Christina knows how to communicate with wolves. Nomo worries about Christina. Nomo’s yell is very loud and hurried. However, Nomo does not know where she can be able to get into the house. Nomo uses her hands to scratch the wall and jumps around the house. At this time, Nomo gets older and older too, she is skinnier, and her hair color is much lighter than before. Christina is standing near to a window. This is the only place that has not been burned down. However, the window is on the second floor. Nomo tries to jump into the window many times. She does not give up at all. The only goal she has is to save Christina. The fire burns Nomo’s hair and skin. After many times, finally, Nomo jumps into the window. Christina sits on the back of Nomo. They run away from the human world and never show up again. After Christina disappears, there are two possible rumors have been passed around the farm. The first one is Christina already dead because of the fire since the fire burned down everything of that house. The second is about the wolf-Nomo comes to save Christina, and they go back to the forest.
